Pathway to Wharton Alumni Status

For more than 135 years, Wharton has been the place where visionaries, inventors, and trailblazers get their start. After completing the ABAP, upon further qualification criteria and additional tuition, there is a pathway to apply for Wharton Alumni Status. Criteria for qualification include:

  • Once you have completed the ABAP, and if you are admitted to LEAP, you will be assigned a Wharton-trained executive coach. You will be required to complete:
    • Two additional Wharton Executive Education open-enrollment programs offered on campus in Philadelphia
    • Six executive coaching sessions

The tuition for LEAP is US$69,000 and includes the coaching fee plus up to 10 days of on-campus accommodations in Philadelphia. If you are admitted to LEAP, we will credit the full US$40,000 tuition fee of ABAP that you have already paid toward the cost of LEAP, leaving US$29,000 remaining to be paid. You will have up to 12 months to complete the requirements for LEAP.

When you become a Wharton alumnus, you will be joining one of the most prestigious business school alumni groups, with more than 99,000 members worldwide in over 130 countries. You will have an opportunity to declare your interest in achieving Wharton alumni status later this year once you have reached certain benchmarks.

Once you qualify for Wharton alumni status, you will be eligible to receive:

  • Full access to become a member of 77+ Wharton Alumni Clubs
  • Invitation to attend future Wharton Global Alumni Forums
  • A Wharton email address

Curriculum

The ABAP is designed with the needs of busy executives in mind — you will learn through online and interactive sessions, including fireside chats and guest lectures from leading researchers and global industry leaders. Outside of the six core modules, you will be able to choose two areas of specialization from four topical elective modules. These modules have been designed to help you dive deeper into the application of analytics specific to your industry or your role within your organization. During the program, you can also opt for one on-campus elective in a topic of your choice. Each on-campus Wharton Executive Education elective is taught over five days.

Who Is It For?

The ABAP is ideal for mid-career and senior professionals across industries. The program is designed to help participants learn how analytics can improve business performance, within both their role and the industry.

Additionally, senior executives who are responsible for interfacing with teams that collect data, and those who are beginning to use available data to inform strategy and operating decisions, will benefit from the program.

The program eligibility criteria include:

  • A minimum of 10 years of work experience
  • International exposure (preferred)
  • Fluency in written and spoken English

Round 1

The first application deadline is
July 20, 2021 and the fee to apply is US$300.

Round 2

The second application deadline is
August 24, 2021 and the fee to apply is US$400.

The program fee is US$40,000 and covers teaching fees, all academic material, and access to online coursework. The fee does not include accommodation for the on-campus elective, transport expenses (domestic, international, visa fee, and more), and other expenses not specifically mentioned in the fees.
