About the Technology Acceleration Program

Wharton’s Technology Acceleration Program offers a dynamic introduction to emerging technologies, such as machine learning (ML) and artificial intelligence (AI), and explores their implications for various industries. You will discover that technology is not a threat to the workforce, but it does require organizations to create processes for humans and robots to coexist. At the end of this program, you will be able to:

  • Evaluate the growth potential and evolution of disruptive technologies.
  • Compare successful and unsuccessful disruptive technology business ventures.
  • Identify current and future machine learning, deep learning (DL), and artificial intelligence applications.
  • Examine how using robots for automation will transform organizational operations.
  • Identify potential applications of blockchain technology within various industries.

Are You Ready for Next-Generation Technology?

To be prepared for the future, you must understand the technology that will drive it. The faculty experts at the helm of the Technology Acceleration Program have scanned the horizon to evaluate how today’s emerging technologies—Non-Fungible Token (NFTs), artificial intelligence, and smart devices—could transform into the technologies of the future. You will take in a broad scope of technologies from robotic process automation to smart contracts, exploring their potential impacts on how you organize, finance, and operate your enterprise. The goal is not to turn you into a specialized technologist. It is to help you become a leader who creatively collaborates with disruptive technology to drive business value and growth.

According to Deloitte, 51% of CIOs say there is a significant mismatch between today’s skill set and the needs of tomorrow. Staying one step ahead of next-generation technology is the place to start. The next step? Building a business model embedded with, driven by, and carried out in collaboration with emerging technologies.

Module 3:

Automation Using Robots (One week)

As autonomous robots, self-driving cars, and robo-soldiers become a reality, consider the managerial challenges for workers to coexist with robots, learn how to adjust facilities and processes for Robotic process automation (RPA), and explore the benefits and challenges of collaborative robots (cobots).

Module 4:

Blockchain (One week)

Understand not only why blockchain technology is a disruption that seems to be sticking, but also how your organization can benefit now and in the future, examine the privacy and security mechanisms within blockchain, and explore cryptographic techniques, such as NFTs, IoT, Development Assistance Database (DADs), and decentralized governance.
